Dear Friend, Brother or Sister in Christ,
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
I write this letter not only because my family needs help, but because I believe that somewhere in this world God has placed compassion in the heart of someone who will see families like mine and remember that we are all one family before Him.
God called me to preach the Gospel, encourage the broken-hearted and remind people that there is hope even in difficult times. I am grateful for that calling. Yet I have also learned that it can be very difficult to stand before others and speak about hope when your own children are hungry and you do not know where their next meal will come from.
This photograph shows my family. Behind us is the place we call home. These children are not simply faces in a photograph. They are children with dreams, laughter, potential and a future that I pray will be different from the hardship they experience today.
We are among the verified families presented through the AidMatch Foundation platform, together with other families patiently waiting for people of compassion to stand with us.
We do not ask the world to feel sorry for us. We ask for an opportunity.
An opportunity for our children to eat properly.
An opportunity for them to attend school and learn.
An opportunity for our family to live in a safer and more dignified home.
An opportunity for us to become stronger and eventually provide for ourselves.
As a pastor, I have prayed with many people during difficult seasons. Today I also humbly ask others to pray with us and, where God makes it possible, to support us.
The Bible reminds us:
“Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and He will reward them for what they have done.” — Proverbs 19:17
Your gift may appear small from where you are, but when it reaches a family struggling to provide food, education and shelter, it can become something very great.
It can become a meal.
It can become a school book.
It can become a roof.
It can become hope.
And above all, it reminds a struggling family that they have not been forgotten.
To everyone who has already chosen to give through AidMatch Foundation, we say thank you. Thank you for the gift of love. Thank you for believing that generosity can cross borders. Thank you for seeing people not only for the difficulties they face today, but for who they can become tomorrow.
There are families like ours patiently waiting on the AidMatch platform not waiting for promises, but hoping that someone will choose to walk part of the journey with them.
May God bless every hand that gives, every heart that prays, and every person who chooses to share the story of a family in need.
