This project is community based to lift 100 vulnerable families out of poverty. It will serve as a socio economic safety for single mothers, young mothers, widow and low income eaners. We shall equipe them with tools, capital and financial literacy needed to build sustainable livehoods.
We shall train them and receive practical hands on training from skilled instructors. We shall focus on low over head, high demand cottage industries like tailoring, soap making, hand crafted jewelry and bead designs. We shall encourage team work to keep costs low by sharing assets.
We shall give capital to those who already have skills or with small running business but lacking lacking capital to grow. And we shall make sure they restock inventory, purchase raw supplies and boost daily cash flow.
How we will sustain it.
To prevent long term dependency on external funding, all 100 participating mothers are organised into 4 localized village savings and loan association. We shall hold a meeting weekly for legal guidance, a psychosocial counselling. It will help them to know about law and women will save small regular amounts of 2000-5000 shs . After 3 months the accumulated savings will be used for self sustainability of internal credit allowing borrowing with interest free hence boosting businesses and entirely independent.
