In many rural and semi-urban communities in Uganda, elderly grandmothers often termed "grannie caregivers" are forced to step into the role of primary providers after losing their own children to poverty, disease, or unforeseen tragedies. This project centers on one such resilient family in Isingiro district: an aging grandmother who is currently the sole caregiver for her five vulnerable, orphaned grandchildren.
With no steady income and declining physical health, the grandmother struggles daily to meet the basic survival needs of five growing children. The family lives in fragile housing conditions, facing food insecurity, lack of access to clean water, and the constant threat of the children not attending school. Through the AidMatch Foundation network, this campaign seeks $50000 in donor support to deliver holistic, life-changing interventions; spanning secure housing, full educational support, continuous nutrition, and critical medical care.
